17 months after suffering a spinal injury that doctors feared would leave him paralyzed, the linebacker isn't just walking, he danced at his wedding.
A SPINAL CORD INJURY THREATENED TO PARALYSE FOOTBALL STAR
Shazier, 26, was partially paralyzed when he suffered a severe spinal cord injury while tackling Bengals receiver Josh Malone during a game in Cincinnati on December 4, 2017.
The prognosis was dire, and doctors feared the football player would never walk again, but after spinal stabilization surgery, and months of arduous physiotherapy, Shazier now walks without the help of a cane or walker.

On May 3, Shazier married his longtime love Michelle Rodriguez in a lavish ceremony, and video of the NFL star dancing with his bride went viral on social media.
Shazier is on the roster for the 2019 season, and after seeing him move, fans are hopeful that he will be back in the game in the near future.

While his beautiful bride wowed the guests in a romantic lace gown, Shazier wore an unconventional pink tuxedo jacket and was accompanied by several of his teammates, who cheered him on.

Shazier, who shares a 1-year-old son with Michelle has another son from a previous relationship.
He has revealed that although the Steelers placed him on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List for the 2019 season, his next goal is to get back in the game.
"I still want to play football, so at the end of the day I'm still focused on trying to get back as much as I can. It's been a long journey. My dream is to come back and play football," he revealed.

Although he has made astonishing progress towards a full recovery, Shazier isn't quite there yet, but he is still very much a part of the team.
Shazier didn’t play for the Steelers last year, but the team decided to convert his $8.2 million salary into a bonus.
