“Happy birthday, Bry,” Gesine wrote. “Sandy brought you to the river, just as she promised.”

Sandra announced Bryan had passed away last August. His ALS diagnosis hadn’t been publicly revealed at the time, with the actress explaining he wanted to keep his health crisis private.

“It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS,” his family confirmed in a statement. “Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”

"We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” it continued.

The statement also asked the public to respect their privacy during the difficult time. "At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan," it concluded.

Sandra Bullock Has Been “Struggling” Since Her Boyfriend’s Death

Sandra, who’s notoriously private about her personal life, hasn’t spoken much to the media about Bryan’s passing. But her sister Gesine posted a touching tribute to Instagram shortly after his death.

"I'm convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his lure into rushing rivers teaming with salmon,” she wrote.

Gesine also reflected on how Sandra was Bryan’s caretaker towards the end. "ALS is a cruel disease," she wrote. "But there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home. Rest in peace, Bryan."

Though Sandra has maintained a tough exterior in public since Bryan’s passing, one report claims she’s understandably been struggling.
